Father Marian was born on November 30, 1940, in Prague. Following his studies at the Faculty of Theology, he received priestly ordination in the year 1963. Shortly thereafter, for more than forty years, he bound his life to ministry in the parish of Prague-Strašnice, where he also merited the construction of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. He came to know the monastic life of the Benedictines through journeys to visit his older brother, Bernard, at the Emmaus-in-exile in Norcia, where he professed solemn vows in 1986. From 2004 to 2010, he served as Prior of the Emmaus Abbey, and subsequently, until 2016, as Rector of the Abbey Church. In his final years, he humbly and patiently bore health afflictions. He departed this life on January 8, 2026, and is buried in the family grave at the Olšany Cemeteries.
